MACROs Are Turned Off
Error Message: Personal workbook in the start-up folder must remain on in
order to record macros - 'unable to record. WHAT "start-up folder"? The MS Excel "Help" function does not recognize the term (either). (I did try to record the Macro in my Personal Workbook, but that is not what the program is asking). DOUG |
MACROs Are Turned Off
The startup folder is the XLStart folder. Its location will vary with the
version of excel and the version of windows you're using. Lots of times when people see this error, it's because excel closed that personal.xls workbook. Excel determined something was wrong and "quarantined" it. In xl2003 menus, you can use: Help|about MS Excel|Disabled Items. You can "undisable" it--but if the file is really bad, you may find that you have to delete it and use a backup version of the file. In xl2007, I _think_ it's under: Office button|Excel Options|Addins select disabled items from the dropdown at the bottom of that window.
