Autofilter results
I am using autofilter in Excel 2003. When I filter on any item in the list,
autofilter gives a display that not only contains the list items filtered but also the last line on the worksheet. It does not matter what item I filter on, the last line always appears as well. Can anyone help me know what I am doing wrong? |

My guess is that your last line is not included in the table range. Try
turning off Autofilter, then turning it on again. If that fails, turn off autofilter, then highlight your entire table, then turn on Autofilter. If you have blank rows or columns in your table, Excel will have difficulty guessing its extent, in which case you need to define the range manually before you execute things like Autofilter or Sort. Do you have a blank row before the last row?
Perhaps a hidden blank row or one with a very small height? If you select entire column do you have same problem? If you have a Subtotal formula in the last row of the table, that
row is excluded from the filter, and always remains visible. Try adding something temporarily in a cell in the next row, such as "END" Then, apply the filter again, and see if the original last row is included in the filtered range. Once the filter is working correctly, you should be able to clear the cell with the temporary text. Ben Wunderin wrote: I am using autofilter in Excel 2003.
