II used an auto filter with a date column in Excel 2003. I tried to customize
it by having it select only dates before today. How can this be done, in auto
filter. Thank you for your time.

.... or if you want it to keep track of the current date, don't type in
today's date but instead type in =TODAY()

Hi,

In all fairness =TODAY() in the Custom box with less than selected should
work, however, it won't. Also, unfortunately, you can't reference a cell in
the spreadsheet.

So you are stuck with hard coding the current date.

Cheers,

Apologies. I was looking at conditional formatting, not autofilter. I'll
wake up later in the week. :-)
