Spreadsheet Help Please
Gord I followed the procedures you gave in the URL but my Word program could
not open the Excel file. What did I do wrong. I set the Excel file up as text as you said and then pasted data from a Works data base into it. Is that my problem? Am i going to have to retype the whole thing? -- thriftyjohn "Gord Dibben" wrote: For help on Word mail merge using Excel as the data source. http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/mailmerg.htm http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MailMe...AMailMerge.htm http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MailMe...DataSource.htm Gord Dibben Excel MVP On Tue, 24 Aug 2004 08:25:12 -0700, straitfan wrote: We have an excel spreadsheet with names and addresses in columns. Other than providing several helpful sites on Mailmerge I did not "tell you" to do anything. I would first copy the data from Works into an Excel workbook, manipulate that data into the proper format...........outlined in any of the sites posted.........then save the workbook. Now open Word and start the mailmerge steps pointing to the Excel workbook. Good luck.
