Default Can't send email from excel through thunderbird

When I installed office 2003 on my new Vista computer, Outlook refused to
run. So I installed Thunderbird, which runs much faster, but when I try to
send a sheet or anything from within Excel or Word.
I have to close the file, write the message and attach the file.

I tried to reinstall outlook and vista says it is fine. With the exception
of this glitch, I like Thunderbird much more anyway.

Just a thought on this one. Did you set Thunderbird as your e mail programme
in:

Internet Explorer
Tools
Internet Options
Programs
Try the drop down box against E Mail: has it got the option of Thunderbirds,
if so select it and see if you can email from Excel, Word etc. Note you may
have to re-boot for it to take effect.

Already did that. I checked though and everything was still checked for
Thunderbird
