Sort on column that uses countif function
I have a column that counts the number of rows given a specific condition.
So the column will have various totals in them. The data it counts is on a separate worksheet. When I want to sort that column (the one using countif) it will appear to sort largest to smallest and then when it completes it doesn't actually sort correctly, zero appear first rather than a five let's say and so on - any idea's? |

After you have sorted the cells, make sure the row references have not become
scrambled. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200813 "Rookie_User" wrote: I have a column that counts the number of rows given a specific condition. So the column will have various totals in them. Thank, I just noticed that they were, even when I selected the entire worksheet. Why is that? My cell was referring the the next cell in the same row as the critiera, after sorting the reference stays "Literal" or something "fixed" - how can I avoid that? |

I also had that problem and have used INDEX to avoid the problem.
For example, instead of pointing to B4 or $B4 or $B$4, I now use INDEX(B:B,ROW()) -- Please remember to indicate when the post is answered so others can benefit from it later.
