Question on Excel AutoFill command
Hi,
When I have say a title called Qtr1 in a cell and want to AUTOFILL it to the right, I know to use the autofill handle...but it seems theres no good quick one-two stroke shortcut key that goes with it...this has been puzzling to me for a while now...Control R (fill right does not work in this case) Is there one? Thank you for any insight. Craig Brody |

There are many more Excel commands than the number of keyboard shortcuts available could ever support. Does that clarify things for you?<g. Fortunately Excel supports macros that lets users make their own shortcuts. Here's an example. Copy both of these to a module and run the first one. Then try out Ctrl-Shift-f in the worksheet for filling a series. If you like this and want to make it always available copy both to your Personal.xls and call the first sub from your Personal's Sub Auto_Open or Sub Workbook_Open, whichever it has. Sub KeyTrapFillSeries() Application.OnKey "^+f", "FillSeries" End Sub Sub FillSeries() ActiveWindow.RangeSelection.DataSeries Type:=xlAutoFill End Sub -- Jim "Craig" wrote in message ... | Hi, | | When I have say a title called Qtr1 in a cell and want to AUTOFILL it to the | right, I know to use the autofill handle...but it seems theres no good quick | one-two stroke shortcut key that goes with it...this has been puzzling to me | for a while now...Control R (fill right does not work in this case) Is there | one? | | Thank you for any insight. | | Craig Brody |
