how do I protect a single cell
In Excel how do I protect a signle cell from being overwritten. Protectio
option seems to only allow me to protect the whole sheet, but I just want to protect a single cell so that the formula won't be overwritten. |
how do I protect a single cell
Hi,
By default every cell is protected but this only becomes active if you protect the sheet so try this Select all the cells by clicking the box at the intersect of the row/column headers then Format|Cells - protection tab and un-check 'Locked' Select the single cell you want to protect then repeat the above but this time check the locked box. Protect the sheet and this single cell will be protected. Mike "JimK" wrote: In Excel how do I protect a signle cell from being overwritten.
