Hello,
I keep getting a custom icon in my toolbar which I cannot get rid off. I
usually reset the toolbars to remove it. I'm not sure how and why it appears
each time I open a spreadsheet.

Does you workbook have any Macros? First delete the Toolbar and save the
file. Then open the FILE while holding down the shift key. This will stop
macros from running when you open the workbook. See if the toolbar returns.

Hi, thanks for the email. No, the icon does not appear with spreadsheets
containing macros or solvers BUT it does appear everytime I open a
spreadsheet with links to other excel files. A new icon appears everytime I
open such files.

Don't have an answer. Maybe there is a query that is causing the problem.
