Default Criteria Syntax in SUMIF formula

How do you use SUMIF, when your criteria is one of two(or multiple) values?

For Example, I want to use:

=SUMIF(A2:A10, ($C$1 or $D$1), B2:B10), but I know ($C$1 or $D$1) is not the
correct syntax.
