drop down list populating
I have a drop down list - When I am in the cell instead of clicking on the
drop down arrow every time, is there a way that when I type the first letter example M the word Mugshot will automatically populate without having to click on the down arrow? There are only 8 words in the list and none begin with the same letter. This would make data entry faster. |

If the dropdown list is a Data Validation dropdown you cannot have
autocomplete. You need a combobox for that. See Debra's site for instructions. http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlDataVal14.html Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Mon, 27 Oct 2008 07:35:01 -0700, Pammy wrote: I have a drop down list - When I am in the cell instead of clicking on the drop down arrow every time, is there a way that when I type the first letter example M the word Mugshot will automatically populate without having to click on the down arrow? For only 8 items this may be more work than it's worth:
