Excel 2007 Backup file
I use office 2007 and when I save a file in excel it creates a backup file
automatically. How do I stop this? I have tried unchecked any auto recovery section I could find, but it still creates that pesky backup file. I hate having to keep deleting the unneccesary extra file. Any help or suggestion would be helpful. Thanks |

Did you clear the checkbox against
'Save autorecover information every...' Under Office button|Excel Options|Save? Are the backups getting created in the directory under 'Auto recover file location'? Excel 2007 Backup file
If you do unselect the option to keep a backup (which is among the options
available under Save As, Tools, General Options in Excel 2003, and I believe in the same place in Excel 2007), please don't come back here to ask us how to retrieve your lost data if you accidentally delete your workbook or overwrite it with an unwanted edit. The backup option is there for a good reason, and you'll see in the archives of this group countless tales of people who have lost many hours of work by failing to use the backup option. -- David Biddulph "AceRoadRunner" wrote in message ...
