Unable to save on network "Access denied. Contact your administrat
There is an Excel Spreedsheet that was created by someone else using Excel
2003. I was able to write and save to this file. I now have 2007 installed and I no longer can save to this file "Access denied. Contact your administrator." is displayed each and every time and temp files are starting to show up in the location of the spreedsheet. If I copy the file over to my local drive I can make changes and save the file, then I can copy the file back to our virtual network drive. I have Read, Write, and now Modify permissions. Is there a fix or do I have to reinstall 2003? |

Problem Solved...
I needed Modify so the tmp files would go away. The tmp files are what gets created every time you click on save. Modify allows the transition to work. Hell...I had Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read, and Write already turned on. To keep the rest of the area secure I had out IT guy create a new folder and allow me Modify permission. This keeps me and anyone else from making any unwanted changes elswhere. All my bosses agreed on how I did this. |
