Can't rename or inset a tab
I am not able to rename or insert tabs in Excel 2003, and I am not able to
right click on the tab. To further complicate this, I go to the Tools menu and the Protection is greyed out, so I'm not sure what the problem is. |
Can't rename or inset a tab
CLick the 'Insert" from the tool bar, and click "worksheet'. this will insert
a new tab. The you can right click that tab to rename or format it. "JohnnyMac" wrote: I am not able to rename or insert tabs in Excel 2003, and I am not able to right click on the tab. This function is also greyed out. I am not able to right click a tab so I
can't insert or copy or rename using the right click feature. "tallmans" wrote: CLick the 'Insert" from the tool bar, and click "worksheet'. this will insert a new tab. Is it a shared workbook?
If so you will need to unshare it before you can make that sort of change. Cheers Simon Blog: www.smurfonspreadsheets.net JohnnyMac wrote: This function is also greyed out. Can't rename Worksheet -infinite Microsoft Error loop
I have a similar problem. I have several worksheets open in my workbook. I
created a new worksheet via Insert Worksheet command. I want to rename the new sheet (i.e., using all alpha-chars) and now I get the 'Microsoft Excel Error while renaming a sheet or cart, you entered an invalid name.' error message I've tried all combinations and possble sheet names but I'm in a error loop. Only option looks to be to kill Excel and start over. The recommend option to save the file and reopen it is grayed out. Oops, cant exit ether, I get a 'Microsoft Excel Cannot quite Microsoft Office Excel 'message. Never seen that one before. Could this be related to the Microsoft Excel patch put out for 2003 a few weeks ago? |

Post your code.
I have heard nothing about any recent patch breaking things. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Thu, 6 Nov 2008 09:39:01 -0800, R Daniels <R wrote: I have a similar problem.
