Purchasing Microsoft Office Excel

Hi,

Thanks for your reply !

Two things, one is will I still get Microsoft support if I were to purchase
Microsoft Office Excel through such means ?

The other is that I already have Microsoft Office 60 Day Trial version that
was preinstalled with the computer.

Will it cause any problems if I purchase Microsoft Office Excel outside of
the Microsoft website ?

And again, is the implication there is that as of now, I'd not be able to
solely purchase Microsoft Excel from the Microsoft website unless it's in
conjuction with a couple of other Microsoft Office products, right ?

Thanks again !

Yes, if you purchase a new (never used, never installed) copy, you will
receive support, as described in their License Terms. See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pr...103171033.aspx

The other is that I already have Microsoft Office 60 Day Trial version
that was preinstalled with the computer. <

If it was me, I would uninstall the Trial before installing the new
software. But, it could be that the new software detects the Trial and
avoids any conflicts.

Will it cause any problems if I purchase Microsoft Office Excel outside of
the Microsoft website ? <

I have never had a problem with a new (never used, never installed) copy.

I don't understand. Your original message referenced a Microsoft web page
that says retailers have just Excel for $229 Full or $109.95 Upgrade. That's
without any other Office products. My message referenced an Amazon page that
offers just Excel 2007 for $192.99 Full.

For non-commercial use, if you don't need Outlook, the best deal is Amazon's
Office Home & Student 2007 for $113.49 (today). If you wish, you could
install only Excel without Word and PowerPoint.

Mike,

Okay, which brings the next question. Why is the Microsoft Office Home &
Student cheaper even though it includes 3 Office products ? Than it is to
purchase just the Microsoft Excel product itself ?

Thanks !
