how do I restore a file
 

I have had an excel spreadsheet for years on my computer. I just went ot go
back into today and it is still listed under my recent document (Excel2007)
so when I click on it it comes up that the file has been moved, renamed or
deleted. How do I get it back? I have never had this problem and this file
is extremely important. I loioked in the recycle bin and it is not there.
Help me...what do I do?

Do a Find. Go to your Start menu and search for files or folders with the
sheet's name.

I just tried that and it doesn't show up. Now what?

Sean's suggestion of a search is the best way I know of; I've had to use this
several times before. Possibly you renamed the file. If you know some of the
column names or data that was in the document, you might try an advanced
search with that text. But I think the computer will look for an exact match
so it may be best to use one or two words at a time.
Also, do you have more than one drive on your computer? The search usually
defaults to search your hard drive, but if you have a network drive set up,
you can use advanced search options to look there.
