How to format Green conditionally b1 if a1 is only Green?
I do color indication in cell a1 once I finished a perticular job as Green.
My Cell b1 has conditionally formatted already for yellow if job is started. Now once a1 is Green I want b1 also has to be Green. How can I do that in excel 2007? Thank you in advance for any help. |

You don't say how you colour a1. What entries are you making in b1 for cond
format to take effect? "narnimar" wrote: I do color indication in cell a1 once I finished a perticular job as Green. My Cell b1 has conditionally formatted already for yellow if job is started. You need to add the same condition to B1 as you have in A1, not test for the
colour (which is not straight-forward), but I cannot be more specific without more information. -- __________________________________ HTH Bob "narnimar" wrote in message ... My actual work book has to be green manually forcertain length of the row and
a1 one of the cell in it . b1 is in date with dd/mm/yyyy format + yellow conditioned if that date is older than today. So I concern to add a condition to b1 to make green looking at a1 as if Green. I think the only way is to insert a new column in a convenient place which you could call "Job finished?". (For this explanation lets call it column X. You'll have to substitute the real column letter in the formula I'm going to describe in the 'Edit rule description box') Then when the job is finished you simply insert a "Y" for yes (without the "" marks) Select b1 Click 'Conditional formatting' < 'Highlight cells rules'< 'More rules' < 'Use formula to determine which cells to format' In the 'Edit the rule description box' input =$x1="y" Click 'Format' button Select 'Fill' tab Chose your colour OK That should do it. Actually you might want to consider making the whole row green rather than just b1. All you do is select the whole row (click 1) instead of b1.
