Link problem after linking tables to Word
 

Hi,

I've encountered linking problems after I've linked tables to a Word
document.

On our server we have designated drive mappings. I.e. J:
\folder1\file.xls

After linking to Word, Excel changes the links in the Excel file to
the original folder name on the server. I.e. \\Server_name\Finance
\folder1\file.xls

After this happens the links do not update properly. It even allows
you to have 2 links to 1 file.
The cells linked to "J:\folder1\file.xls" updates correct other cells
linked to "\\Server_name\Finance\folder1\file.xls" do not update.

Has somebody experienced the same or has a solution?
