Copy Date from one spreadsheet to another
 

I have 12 tabs for eac month of the year. I want to have a date from one
spreadsheet to carry over to another spreadsheet. I know hopw to do it with
data =sum(October:September!$b12) but his formula does not work with a date.

I did not understand your function.

However to copy the value in A1 to any cell in any other sheet you need to
enter the following
=Sheet1!A1

This works for dates also.
