Insert Tab not avaliable
 

I was working in a spreadsheet and I went to create a pivot table. However
when I go to the insert tab the options are all greyed out.

Does anyone know why this is and how do you fix it?/

Try clicking Tools Unprotect workbook
(you may need to supply the password)

the problem was that I shared the workbook,

I never realized that would prevent you from creating a pivot table.
