Copying Formatting from one Worksheet to another within different
 

I have two worksheets within 2 different workbooks that need to have the same
formatting. I tried both using the Format Painter and highlighting the
entire workbook and then painting the format to the entire "other" workbook.
Also I tried doing a copy worksheet and sent it to the other workbook and
tried overwriting the data. Still to no avail.

I have also tried manually setting the column widths manually on the 2nd
worksheet to match the widths of the 1st workbook. I set column "a" to 11.33
however it changes it to 11.38. I have no idea why it is changing, and would
greatly appreciate some guidance.

Hi,

It works for me.

1. Open both workbooks, and select the appropriate sheet in each.
2. Choose Window, Arrange All, OK (this isn't really necessary)
3. In the workbook with the format you want to copy, click the top left
corner of the spreadsheet, to the left of the column letter A and above the
row number 1. This selects the entire sheet.
4. Click the Format Painter button
5. Click once in the other workbook (this gets you to the workbook but
doesn't select anything)
6. Click the top left corner in the worksheet you want to get the format.

I have spent numerous tries, many hours, and 2 different versions of Excel
(XP and 2007) to no avail.

OK, try it this way.

1. Open source workbook.
2. Ctrl-A to select all cells
3. Right clickCopy
4. Go to target workbook.
5. Right click on cell A1
6. Paste Special...Formats

Unfortunately no luck with that either... I know this is going to sound
extremely bizzarre, but i did notice the column header row "a" | "B" | "C"
etc.

has a bigger height than the other. I've never seen that before. Any help
will be greatly appreciated, as this part of a submission for a huge work
project where everything has to be uniform.
