Charts not printing in the location I assign on worksheet

Hi,

I created a chart and put it where I want. Later when I went to Print
Preview (PP), it would appear (and print) smaller, and up and to the left.
I copied the tab, pasted it and when I PPed the new tab, the chart was fine.
I deleted the old tab.
I proceeded to create many other charts and they were all fine. I saved the
document and closed it for the day (yesturday), and opened it today.
Most, but not all, of the charts were bigger and to the bottom right IN THE
ACTUAL WORKSHEET so that in PP they were in the right spot.

Has anyone heard of this and can it be fixed?

Cheers,

Mike

If this is 2007 then you need to change the properties to NOT move.

2 ways
1. right click on the chart or shape until you get the format,
propertiesproperties. Sometimes a hassle.
2. Select shapeRibbonformatsize (lower right)drop down to select
properties

Using the second way, I changed it to "Don't move" in the properties. It
didn't work until I saved and exited. When I reopened it seem to stick, so
thanks for you help.

A note though, some charts that were moving this morning have since gone
back to their place, even before I made your change. There must be a bug of
some sort...

Cheers

It should be noted that this is a temp. fix. My charts seem to keep moving,
but everytime I save, exit and reenter, the charts are fine.

Thanks, Don. I can't send the actual file though due to confidentiality. When
I have some time, I will try and send a version with falsified data.

Hi,

It turns out that this problem is not specific to this file, but to my
program. When others open this file, there is no problem, likewise when I
open it at home. ALso, it is now occuring in all other Excel documents. It
must be a part of my own settings. Any further ideas?

Thanks,

IC

This is clearly a bug in program. It is reoccurring in several different
Excel 2007 files.

In my case, when I re-open the file, sometimes (not always) the charts have
increased in size about 30% *and* have shifted southeast on the page. This
has happened frequently.

Does anyone know any more about this?

Don't know if this is a factor, but my Excel files are usually very large.
(Not braggin', just sayin' ;-)
