formatting the X and Y axis in a graph

I want to make a graph where the Y axis measures time in terms of hours and
minutes. How can I format this axis so that the intervals are 1 hour apart
from each other starting from the Origin (where the X and Y axis meet) at
time 0:00 (zero hours) to 12:00 (twelve hours) ? Thank you

formatting the X and Y axis in a graph

Hi,

In xl2003 and earlier. Double click the Y axis and on the number format set
it to HH:MM
On the scale tab set
Minimum=0
Maximum=12:00
Major Unit=01:00

Excel will automatically convert time values to numeric values.

In xl2007 you have to enter the numeric value. On the Format Axis dialog,
Axis Options.
Minimum Fixed = 0
Maximum Fixed = 0.5
Major unit Fixed = 0.0416666666666667

Change Number to HH:MM

Cheers
Andy
