Unexpected message when first opening this 2007 Excel file
 

A co-worker just switched to Excel 2007 from Excel 2000. They said when they
first tried opening the file they got the following message:

€œA formula or sheet you want to move or copy contains the name €˜Salary,
which already exists on the destination worksheet. Do you want to use this
version of the name?
To use the name as defined in the destination sheet, click Yes.
To rename the range referred to in the formula or worksheet, click No, and
enter a new name in the Name Conflict dialog box.€�

They want to get rid of this message as other people will be using the file
at the company.
I don't understand why this message would appear when the file is opened.

Any information would be greatly appreciated !

PS I will post another error message that another person is getting in
another file soon.

hey, had the exact same problem and couldn't use any outside programs due to
work policy. to fix it, i had to write down all the different names that
came up (i.e. 'Salary'), then add them as a Defined Name which you can find
under the Formulas tab (just define it as anything, doesn't matter), and then
delete them all, then save. bit of a pain but hopefully saves you some
frustration later.
