REad Only Spreadsheet
there are two reasons a file is in READ ONLY Mode
1) the proerties of the file or directories which it is in is set to READ ONLY. 2) The computer thinks somebody else is using the file. Sometimes when a file isn't closed properly (example when a computer crashes) the computer thinks somebody is using the file when they aren't. You usually need to wait unitl the computer or server is rebooted. One think you can do is to copy the file and work with the copy until the computer/server is rebooted. I also may be that the file is corrupted and need to be repaired. When the file is open try using the microsoft tool Start - Program Files - Microsoft Office - Microsoft office Tools - Microsoft Application Recovery.
