I have followed the instructions in the forum concerning reducing an excel
file size. The workbook contains six worksheets with pivot tables, macros
and custom functions. The file size is approx 870KB. After hiding rows and
columns that I dont want other people to see the file size became approx
8.1MB. I unhid the rows and columns and the size is back to 870KB. Is this
normal? I guess my other option is to have white text on a white background
but that seems a bit primitive when the hide feature is there.

I have had issues like this in the past and have always solved them, but have
never come across this type of query, where size changes in this way.
If you wish, you can email me your spreadsheet, and i will take a look.
