excel sub-par performance

Using MS office 2003 + windows XP. When using laptop away from office,
excel performance is very poor. Extremely slow = frustrating. If fine
when docked at office.

Any thoughts about why excel is so slow/underperforming when laptop is
away from office?

Hi

Check your power saving options on the laptop.
When on mains supply, it will no doubt be set for maximum performance, but
when on battery, to conserve power
Check the setting for your maximum processor state in particular.

Hard telling from here, you will need to describe the precisely what
functions are slow/underperforming. Frequently the problem is that you
have removed resources(disconnected them) and are still having the
system try to use them. So timeouts will occur until you correct that
discrepancy.
