Excel 2007 to Excel 2003 bug?
I have an Excel 2007 spreadsheet with a Pivottable in it.
I want to give it to a person that has Excel 2003. I have saved the spreadsheet in an Excel 2003 compatible file and given it to the other person. When they open it, it will not let them refresh the Pivottable when data is changed. the "Refresh" button is greyed out and we get a message about it being created in a different version. Is this a bug? Anyone have any suggestions or workarounds or words of wisdom here. Thanks for any help Dennis |
Excel 2007 to Excel 2003 bug?
The following appears to work for me. Try it and I will be interested in your
results. Before creating the Pivot Table save the workbook as xl97-2003 type file. Close the workbook (This is essential) Open the workbook again and it should be in compatibility mode (See the file name at the top of the workbook) Create the Pivot table and then save it again. I have tested the above with a simple pivot table and it opened O.K. with the pivot table in xl2002. -- Regards, OssieMac "Irvine, Dennis" wrote: I have an Excel 2007 spreadsheet with a Pivottable in it.
