How do I remove a dropdown box in Excel 2007?

I have inherited a spreadsheet that has hidden drop-down boxes. When I
right-click in the cell I see ....pick from drop-down list. I need to get
rid of list. How do I do that? Thank you.

It looks like it may be a filter, but the remove filter is greyed out.

You could use "clear data validation". It will remove the dropdown without deleting the content.

How to delete a drop down box in Excel 2007

I also inhereted an excel spreadsheet that had drop down boxes in it. It turns out they were Visual Basic drop down boxes. Quite a pain to remove. Here is how I did it:

1. Enable the developer tab. do this by right clicking on the toolbar and selecting "Customize Quick Access toolbar". Then select "popular" and then select show the developer tab.

2. Go to the Review Tab and unprotect it if it is protected(by clicking unprotect), and then click share, and uncheck the "Allow other users". It will bring up a confirmation message, select yes.

3. Go to the developer tab and select design mode. Right click on the drop down box and select delete.

Good luck
