My cursor is selecting 3 cells at a time - how do I fix this?
 

Every time I click on a cell to enter information, three cells get
highlighted/selected.
How did this option get turned on and how can I turn it off?

It's possible the cells are merged. On the Alignment tab of the Format Cells
dialog box Merge Cells is an option. Make sure it is unchecked.

Press F8...that should work.
