Excel 2002: Max, Min and Average formulas
 

Hello,

I need to compute the average, maximum and minimum values fore items with
identical codes as illustrated below:

A B C D E
1 Code Weight Average Max Min
2 K224 100
3 K224 200
4 K224 350
5 K224 450 xxx xxx xxx
6 T412 140
7 T412 220
8 T412 320 xxx xxx xxx
9 Q256 214
10 Q256 320
11 Q256 260 xxx xxx xxx

May I know the formula I must key it at cell C2, D2 and E2 before copying
down to get the answers?

This looks like a perfect setup to use data|pivottable.

in xl2003 menus:
Select the range
A1:B###
Data|Pivottable
Follow the wizard until you get to a step with a Layout Button on it.
Click that layout button
Drag the header for the Code to the row area
Drag the header for the weight to the Data area
(rightclick on it and choose Average)
Drag the header for the weight to the Data area
(rightclick on it and choose max)
Drag the header for the weight to the Data area
(rightclick on it and choose min)
