formula auditing toolbar items disabled
 

I have a workbook that does not allow me to access the tracing items on the
formula auditing toolbar. For other spreadsheets, I am able to access the
items.
Help?

Worksheet might be protected.

try to unprotect the worksheet and try auditing toolber.

to unprotect worksheet: Tools Protection Unprotect sheet ( you need to
enter password if it had protected by using a password)

The workbook has multiple worksheets. I checked them all and NONE of them
are protected. Any other ideas?

It appears on additional testing that the problem has something to do with
being linked to a "password to open" protected workbook. If I break the
links off the worksheet that is not password protected to open, then the menu
items in the formula auditing toolbar become enabled. I still need to
protect the data in the other file, so still need a solution. By the way, if
the password to open file is open the items on the formula auditing toolbar
are still disabled.

Thoughts?
