I have a couple of users that are constantly overwriting a workbook on the
network with a blank copy of the same name. They say when they do file open and open the file they get a message that the file exists do they want to replace and if they say yes it overwrites the good copy with a blank. I have them set to not use offline line files but that didn't stop the problem. |

Just a guess...
But it sounds like they're hitting File|SaveAs instead of File|Open. This would pretty farfetched--is there a chance that someone modified their toolbar so that file|Open does the wrong thing? Do they see "Save As" or "Open" in the titlebar of that dialog? sjs wrote: I have a couple of users that are constantly overwriting a workbook on the network with a blank copy of the same name. well you know anything is possible and that's probably as best of a guess as
there is. I'll have them start only using the file open option instead of toolbar icons. Thanks "Dave Peterson" wrote: Just a guess... Maybe you can wander over (if you're in the same facility) and watch them do it
a few times. If they're using toolbar icons, maybe they're hitting the wrong items??? sjs wrote: well you know anything is possible and that's probably as best of a guess as there is.
