help with drop down list
 

when I put my mouse over the cell which has the drop down list, the arrow
does not show. How can I get the arrow for the list to show when I put the
mouse on it?

Click the cell? or otherwise select it (as with arrow keys)?

Excel doesn't know that while you are hovering over the cell you want to see
the arrow. However, it does know you're hovering over it - and if you INSERT
a COMMENT, when you hover over it, the comment will display. So you could
insert a comment to clue the user that there's a list there, perhaps
something like:
Click Here To Select From List

Makes me think you don't really have data validation set up in that cell even
though you think you do. Go through the steps for setting up Data Validation
for a cell carefully and see if it doesn't work for you.
If that gives you no relief, you can send the workbook to me at (remove
spaces)
