vertical line in chart linked to scroll bar
 

Can anyone please help
I downloaded a workbook called "open mind swiss temps" from processtrends.com.
In the trend chart sheet there are two charts that are linked with a
vertical line that is also linked to a scroll bar and there are check boxes
to plot the data.
I have tried to duplicate these effects but just cannot succeed.
Any help with a step by step tutorial?
