NeedToKnow

Is it possible paste to visible cells only?

I have a file A which has 1000 rows and 7 columns. I have another file B
which has 500 rows and 14 columns. I need to sort file A and copy from sorted
file B some information. If the sorted result in both files is 370 rows in
same order, is it possible to copy visible cells (this I can do) and paste
cells only to visible cells? In Paste - Special there seems not to be
suitable selection :(

Thanks to all previus answers, they have been very helpful!

Nothing built into excel allows you to do this.

If you're lucky, maybe you could sort the destination range so that the area to
paste is contiguous and you could paste normally into that area????

Thanks, so it wasn't that I didn't know how to do it, there just is no easy
solution.

These files are updated every month, sometimes sorting might work and
sometimes not. Well, this is what they pay me to do so many thanks to excel
programmers for shortcuts like CTRL+C, CTRL+V etc...

Thanks again!
