Sounds like you have the '%' format selected. If you use that, you need to
get 0.85 in the cell to show 85 % (IIRC :) ).
You are doing the *100 in the calc, yes ? Either don't and leave the %
format on, or leave that calc alome and turn the % format off.

I know, really confusing. I tell people not to use the % format. The last
thing I want is random multiplication in my spreadsheets. :)

What is your formula in this cell? And what are the values that are
contributing to the formula?

John,
This is the formula:
=IF(ISERROR(AVERAGE(Z56:AA61,AD56:AE61,AM56:AN61,A Q56:AR61)),"",AVERAGE(Z56:AA61,AD56:AE61,AM56:AN61 ,AQ56:AR61))

I work in a school and am trying to average out the achievement marks of
students. So, 98.5%+82.3%+92.7% divided by 3 = 91.17%

I hope that makes sense.
Thanks

Ensure your grades are entered/formatted as percentages, and ensure your
result cell is formatted as a percentage. Works fine for me. If your grades
are NOT percentages, then you can just take your result and divide by 100.
