Default Any way to increase visual size of formula bar?

The formula bar and all the things I type when typing formulas are too small
for me to see. Is there any way to increase the visual size of the formula
bar, similar to the way we can increase the size of worksheets?

Thank you.

In xl2003, experimenting reveals that the font/pitch
adjustment for the formula bar can be made via
Tools Options General tab Standard Font/Size
(Increase the font size to taste Ok)

Then quit Excel & restart as per prompt

Again -- something related.

I know of no known way to change the font or font size used on Form controls (the classic kind) - i.e. comboboxes and dropdowns.

A couple of weeks ago all my dropdown menus switched from using Tahoma 8pt (the previously-thought unchangeable standard), to 10pt. And I can find no way of changing this back. I don't know what caused this change, and the other people who use my system wonder why the text now spills off the edges of the menus. I don't want to have to make the menus bigger to accomodate the text.

And no, the sheets hasn't been zoomed. And the text shown on the 'undropped' part of the control is still in 8pt. Only the dropdown part itself has the larger text. Not only this, but the row height of the dropped items hasn't changed, meaning the text on each line is truncated vertically.

Thank you, Max!

In Excel 2007, you do it this way:

1. Click on the Office Button
2. Click on Excel Options
3. Change the font size.
4. Quit Excel.
5. Restart Excel.

Welcome, and thanks for posting the steps in xl2007. I'm sure this will
benefit other readers who face the same issue that you raised.

I'm out. You might want to hang around awhile for views from other
responders.
In general I would suggest that you start new postings for your queries.
