Default How Do I ?

I have M$ Excel 2007
The version that ships with MS
home and student 2007 for $149.00
Vista is my operating system
(if that matters).
I am definitely not an Excel power user.
I never use it for spreadsheet work,
I only use it to create simple databases.

I am creating a very simple database. I am
cataloging all my DVD's So I have cells for
things like movie name, Year, actors-actresses
(each in own cell) genres, and so on.
In row one, I put the descriptions like name,
year, and so on. When I sort by a particular column,
the row one description sorts along with the rest of the info.
How can I lock or exclude row one from sorting
along with the data that is just below it ?

Please help me to understand how to
lock down row one.
Thanks Mike

In the Sort & Filter section of the Data toolbar click on Sort
to get the Sort dialogue window.
In that window, make sure that the "My data has headers" checkbox is
checked. That will omit your header row from being included in the
sorting.

Hope this helps / Lars-Åke
