Formula to sum selective data.
Hi guys,
I have a spreadsheet containing data within cells B2:P20. Within this data the theme repeats itself every 3 rows. For example; competition, opponents, score, competition, opponents score, and so forth. In A1:A20 i have person names and in each competition box I have a dropdown containing 4 possible selections. What I need is for the scores for each person to sum only when a particular competition is specified in the dropdown box 2 rows to the left. So for example, John Jones' is specified in Cell A1 data is contained across cells B2:P2, in B2 the competition dropdown is "PL" and the score is in D2, In E5 the competition dropdown is "CC" and the score is in G7, In H8 the competition dropdown is again "PL", with the score in J10. In this case I would only want the formula to sum the scores in D2 and J2, whilst ignoring the score in G7. I hope I have explained this well enough. Many thanks in advance for your help, kind regards, Anthony |
