help on a formula
Thanks very much, that did the trick.

Just change the value in A1 by over-typing, and B1 will change its value. The formula in B1 can be copied down a few rows, so that you can put other values in A2, A3, A4 etc to see those results in B2, B3, B4 etc. Hope this helps.
