How to create a list that shows one value and gives another
 

The problem is simple, i have to create a list that shows one value and gives
another correspondind at the same line but another column.
Does any one have any ideas if is it possible aon how to make it?

Please give further details of what you are trying to achieve. It
sounds like VLOOKUP is the function which you can use to do this.

Well i'm trying to make a list where in the cell you select one name,in the
list, and it gives you one code in the same cell,is this making any sense?.
How ever if i use any funcion that shows me that have a circular reference.
That VLOOKUP doesn't work for the same cell.it has to read and write in the
same cell.

Option 1: From a post by Debra Dalgleish ..
You can do this with data validation and programming.
There's a sample file he
