Probably down temporary, you can use something like this
=IF(COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2)1,"Duplicate","") where your list starts in A2, copy down in an adjacent column and it will tag from the second instance of a duplicate, if you want from the first instance =IF(COUNTIF($A$2:$A$2000,A2)1,"Duplicate","") -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "Duplicate entries" wrote in message ... Even though you got a nice answer from Peo, you may want to visit Chip's site.
