can't open Excel file sent as email attachment, direct from OE
I can not DIRECTLY open an Excel file sent as email attachment. The error
message is: "Windows can not find 'C:\Documents and Settings\Sony vgn sz 2\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\J5x14UNN\ [Excel file name].xls'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search" Please advise, thank you. |

Do you have the same problem with other attachments like a word document?
Try opening the e-mail message. You are using a web e-mail tool so double click on the e-mail message. then go to start button and right click and select "EXPLORE". Use the Explore window to find the file you have posted below. Post the results. You are probably missing one of the Folders in the filename. I need to know which one is wrong so I can tell you what needs to be fixed. "Siswojo Soedjito" wrote: I can not DIRECTLY open an Excel file sent as email attachment. No, only problem with Excel file only.
Searched through Windows Explorer, folder "Content.IE5" is not exist in Temporary Internet Files folder. "Joel" wrote: Do you have the same problem with other attachments like a word document? Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer: Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets some of the windows registry to excel's factory defaults.
