fill series with alphabetic

hi community

can community assist me in this task,

i wanted to fill series, say, I place alphabet letter, "a", in one cell and
when I drag downwards or sideways, it will display, say, I drag away with 5
cells, it will display,

a b c d e f...

is this possible?

i tried using the Series dialog box on "linear" , "Growth", it does not
work???

or is it not possible to do such action, cause Excel only able to do with
numeric data?

thanks community for the assistance given

:)

Check out these old posts.

The first describes how to set-up A to Z.

The second describes how to go beyond Z, to AA, AB, AC ... to maybe SA, SB,
SC ... etc.
