Shading When Selecting Nonadjacent Cells

In Excel 2007, when selecting nonadjacent cells using the control key,
previously selected cells are not highlighted (or so faint that you cannot
see them) while selecting the next group of nonadjacent cells. Where do you
go to adjust the appearance of selected nonadjacent cells?
