I have a new laptop which is running on Vista. I installed Office 2003 and
everything was OK. Now, all of my Excel worksheets are coming up as "read only". I can neither edit them or save them as a different file. These are my personal files and were never saved as read only. I have downloaded all the updates and hotfixes but I still can't clear the files. Have also checked properties and none of the files are saved as read only. Any ideas?? |

"everything was OK"
For how long? When did the readonly start coming up? Between OK and now, what changes have you made to your OS? Did you ever burn the files to CD? This problem started over this past weekend. I saved some of the files to a
memory stick and everything seemed ok. I have made no changes to the OS with the exception of the update downloads and the hotfix for excel 2003 "Gord Dibben" wrote: "everything was OK" For how long? Are you opening directly from the memory stick?
If so, copy back to HDD and try opening. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 1 Jul 2008 16:04:03 -0700, kitkat wrote: This problem started over this past weekend.
