Using the contents of a cell as a file name for an INDEX formula

I want to run an INDEX lookup but base the file name it searches for on the
contents of a cell in that same workbook. Is this possible? How?

Let's imagine it was another sheet that you wanted to look in (in the
same workbook), and the sheet's name was held in a cell - you would
use INDIRECT to do this.

However, INDIRECT will not work with closed files, so if you wanted to
have a filename and sheetname in a cell then you would have to arrange
that the second file was open at the same time.

Hope this helps.
