Can excel cells be limited in length for characters allowed in cel
I am trying to use excel for a new Performance review form. Can cells be
limited to the amount of characters allowed in a cell? We want to have approx. 4 cells (merged and wrapped text) in order to allow for supervisor comments. We want it to only allow them that much room for comments and not to go over because then we cannot see that part when printed. Please let me know if this is possible. |

Check out data validation (DataValidation... in versions before 2007, Data Tab in 2007). It has a text length option -- HTH Nick Hodge Microsoft MVP - Excel Southampton, England DTHIS web: www.excelusergroup.org web: www.nickhodge.co.uk "daisy_226" wrote in message ... Just a note here about merged cells.
Merging cells just creates a single cell with the single cell limitations for the amount of text that will be shown or printed. Also merged cells will not autofit as the text expands/decreases.
