How do I repeat a format of 2 merged cells to a number of rows in.

I have merged 2 cells and want to apply the format to number of rows. When I
highlight the rows and click edit repeat format cells all of the rows are
merged in to 1 cell. How do I apply merged cells format to individual rows
without merging them in to 1 cell

Thanks

How do I repeat a format of 2 merged cells to a number of rows in.

In xl2003, I can add an icon to my favorite toolbar that merges cells on a row
by row basis.

Tools|Customize|Commands tab|Format category
Look for the "Merge Across" icon (about half way down the list)

Then drag it to your favorite toolbar (or create a new toolbar and put it on
that one).

Then select your range and click the icon.

And after you have looked for and used the merge across feature, look for
nothing but problems with copying, pasting, sorting, filtering and a gaggle of
others.
